Lion Head Mesa snapped like twigs

A playful smirk danced on Cicero's features as Akela repeated the word. Cicero liked the word 'maybe', because it made his counterpart of the conversation think about things. It left no room for assumptions or simply accepting things as they were, because 'maybe' was never truly an answer. There were always deeper thoughts behind it.

"Hmm-m," Cicero said as he watched the sun crawl down to the horizon. He did not really want to leave this place and this wolf to go back to grouchy Damien, but they had a plan to fulfil, and they would do so, soon.

The youth followed behind Akela and followed his lead, sliding down the Mesa slowly, and perhaps slightly more carefully than his counterpart.
