It was evident to him that the dancing creature sensed something amiss, but was not certain, and had not even pinpointed his location. The shadow said nothing in response, though his lips quirked into a small smile, appreciative of the narcissistic humor the wolf possessed.

He lowered himself further into the grasses and stole forward, peering between the softly swaying blades. This was a common game to him; to stalk and see how near he could draw to another before they busted him.
