She found it hard to stomach the thought of others feeling similarly, even if the circumstances were different. The lead bitch was mostly glad that Scarlett took her unsolicited advice as a compliment rather than inappropriate meddling.

No doubt that was fading fast, evidenced by her presence here, but she felt leery staying away for prolonged periods. It was too easy to imagine falling prey to another fainting spell.
