The pup didn't know what to say. She didn't know there was such a thing as boy's names and girl's names. She doubted Saena wanted any kind of answer anyway. So Reggie pressed her lips together and remained silent, still fighting that rising urge to scratch at her itchy hide.

Perhaps because the pup hadn't answered Saena's rhetorical question, the next one sounded quite sharp. Regipre opened her mouth to obediently answer but then closed it again. She didn't know the name of her birthplace. Mentally, she scrambled before saying, "A place with long grass. There were wolves there but they went away. Then it was only mother, Sart, Papref and me. Then Reek came and took us away."

That was the truth, the whole truth (or as much as she could remember) and nothing but the truth. By now, Reggie sensed that no answer would truly placate the irate Alpha female. She braced herself for more blows, verbal or otherwise, and hoped for this confrontation to be over soon.
