Mason shrugged again when she suggested she would go back to Fitz. Mason’s lip curled in disgust, and he merely watched her go, orange eyes burning into her back. Apparently the rest with him had done her amazingly well, given that she was now walking relatively fine. And what thanks did he get? Just watching her go back to his Dad.

Mason whirled away before she disappeared from sight and ran in the other direction, intent on putting as much distance as he could between himself and his ex-crush. And this time, he felt a burning desire for the ‘ex’ part to be true.
