There were surely other methods, but Akela liked his fish a certain way.  Plus he was aiming for more fish, causing the blood to flow was just filling them with water, he did not like that.  He left the fish on the rock and glanced at Catori.  A chuckle escaped his lips. "That was the idea actually" he teased back. "Of course you would have saved me if the fish was that mean, right ? " he added.
