Dante took her words in good humour. She accepted his offer of a tour with a short bark, eager to start the hunt without further delay - the competitive little whippet of a girl was just as hungry for breakfast as she was for a win. Her alpha veered off around the meadow and she went the other way, squinting in the softening light of day. There were fresh scent trails here, criss-crossing each other as the rabbits went about their morning business. They had scattered now, of course, and the two wolves would have to rely on luck and natural wiles to root out those that hadn't found their way back to the warren.
