Osprey did not plan to keep her diminished eyesight a secret - if anyone noticed and asked, she would give an honest answer. If not, she was not going around the world telling everyone, what was wrong with her. Blue and Lasher - being her closest friends at the plateau after Dante - would get to know this in time.
"You are stepping down," she repeated and for a moment she feared that this would mean him leaving for good too. But judging from the tone and what she knew already about his character, it did not seem likely. "Decided to take a well-deserved early retirement?" she cracked a joke. A tired one though - but there was a hint of humor.
