All Welcome
The last she had ventured north, it had not been worth it— the wolves were too few, too scattered. She had returned and told her siblings as much. They bid their time, waiting for the population of wolves to increase. For what, RaLae was not entirely sure— but then, she was not Ang'Ver. She was merely his scout, to alert him to the north's status.

With children, begotten by a wayfaring wolf, it was harder to scout. It had felt suddenly dangerous, and she refused— much to her brother's ire. She had scars for that, and might have been killed if her brother hadn't realized the advantage her half-breed children would have. Perhaps they would grow to look like wolves, though raised by coyotes. Savage tools, to infiltrate, to— what? Again, RaLae was not privy to the details. Nor did she care to know them.

Now that her offspring had reached their first year, the timing could not be better... and she was scout once more. She trekked north, relentless, and her crow followed behind. Its messages would be crude, for it was the stupidest crow her clan had ever met— but, perhaps, that was why it would do their bidding. It could not communicate, not the way they could amongst themselves, and could only present them with tufts of her fur... or the object that was their signal to invade. The object she scouted for.

As she approached the cold shores of a lake, the crow pulled a tuft of fur from her shoulders. Instinctively, she snapped at the dusty bird as it flew away— though she let it go, for it had business to attend.
