he himself had suffered minute scoring of flailed claws upon his shoulders, but shardul merely rolled the muscled limbs and licked the blood from his jaws. a low chuff was given the coyote pup -- they would not consume the flesh of this animal -- and away they trekked, shardul vibrant with the energy of killing.
