But just as Jinx would believe no word that this woman uttered, she did not expect her to believe, either.

Yet Jinx did not underestimate Xi'nuata alone. She had seen the woman's impeccable footing on mountain terrain and witnessed firsthand her speed. Perhaps the most fatal mistake the Vale wolf could make was underestimating Jinx, but arrogance did that. "Your funeral," she muttered, more to herself this time, though her lips quirked into a wicked smirk.

Xi'nuata might think she was hot shit, or so her manner implied, but Jinx was a Kesuk. She was hot shit. She would meet these Vale wolves head-on when they came, for she believed they would come, and show them what a true-born warrior could do.
