Saena was in a weird mood, domineering and yet still fumbling with the other woman's sudden compliment, and so Tavi's list of "skills" caused her to quirk her brow and even snort a half-laugh. A wolf with humour was always worth having around the maplewood. She hadn't seen Juniper in a while, so Saena's joking buddies had dwindled back down to just Reek. Arion was far too stern and stubborn most of the time. Having another joker around, even though she would hardly call herself one, would lighten the maplewood's recent mood.
She could think of no fitting response, though, and felt keenly her own lack of wit in the face of another's. Thankfully, Tavi saved her the embarrassment of having to come up with something by following up with a list of real skills, which Saena accepted with a nod. All wolves could hunt, she couldn't argue with that, but they'd recently lost a fighter and could definitely use another. The alpha female was particularly interested in the other female's willingness to run errands. While it was hardly necessary, having another possible outrider around was a nice thought. She and her husband both held the trade but, being alphas, they couldn't exactly afford week-long excursions to the south.
"I can't promise a long walk on the beach, but he looks willing to cuddle—" she gestured at Ukko with a playful grin, "—and warm meals are my specialty". She glanced between the pair, almost trying to gauge Ukko's own reaction, before she stepped back and said, "okay, you're in. Welcome to Phoenix Maplewood". All that was left was for Tavi to accept.
And if she didn't accept, then her other option was to run the other way, because Saena's good mood wouldn't hold out if Tavi refused.
