“Hello,” Lex responds but he looks away, expelling a breath he’d forgotten he’d been holding.  The scent of Izo is no where to be found. He thought he’d been on the tail of it but perhaps it had been his imagination.  His sister is a smart one, capable of taking care of herself, but she’d disappeared without telling him, while he’d been gone and traveling around the area.  She didn’t say goodbye.  Perhaps—and he could hope—she returned to their other sisters to check in on them.  No one had any information for him but he couldn’t go after her, could he?  “This is my first time.  I was looking for someone.”
