Sesi was correct in her observation of Saena's mannerism—the woman was very interested in self-preservation—but her assumption that anger would follow was slightly off. Perhaps because Saena felt she owed it to the girl's mother or perhaps because she was softer than she liked to admit, she was only mildly irritated, and only because she'd made the mistake of following Sesi anywhere. She'd already categorized the quiet, timid youth as a source of trouble, but Sesi hadn't made the boars charge. Saena had done that.

Whatever, went her inner monologue. But try as she might, she couldn't place the sole blame on Sesi, and so when the youth whispered out an apology, the lead female frowned and asked, "why?" There was no point in being sorry. Sesi wouldn't have been the one to gore Saena if the pigs had caught them, after all. Perhaps, had that happened, she would've had less trouble pinning all the blame on the frightened juvenile, but that wasn't the case. They were both to blame and they were both safe now, so it didn't even matter.
