To enrich the diet of his young Burke decided to go up the river from the Black Feather Woods area. It wouldn't hurt to see check the territories close to his woods. Maybe there was something interesting happening, and if not, he hoped he could make a meal out of one of the otters. Some might think that they are adorable but Burke just found them more like the rabbits of the water, which meant that they were a perfect meal. Now it would be a good time to hunt them since that hadn't any ice settled on top of the stream. In cold winters, just like last year, this would often happen.

The large grey male trotted out of the territory. He didn't leave the dark woods as often as he did before. His young tied him to the pack, and being the alpha also contributed to him not being able to go away for long periods of time. Especially now his beta akela vanished too. Burke was quite saddened by his Beta gone missing, hopefully his dear friend didn't die, maybe he passed out somewhere and would return. Burke was inching closer to the main part of Otter Creek. He stayed low to the ground, spying the river for movement. When he realized there wasn't any, the male sat up. Great. No otters.
