The moment Dash realized Thistle Cloud was heading towards him, he calmed a bit, sitting back on his haunches as she did so next to him. It was difficult to contain his excitement over the hunt, but he did he best.
His attention turned to the leader of the hunt as he began to speak. Dash's ears went back and his brows furrowed as he said he had plans for the meat. Plans for the meat? Aren't we going to eat it? he questioned aloud, his voice showing his confusion. Generally, Dash wouldn't have said anything, but if he wasn't going to be able to eat it, then he wasn't going to participate in the hunt. And what was with this "don't mangle it too bad," deal? They were wolves, and Dash operated on instinct, and that did not include leaving his prey in one piece.
Dash didn't understand this at all. His body stiffened in its place, like a two year throwing a fit and refusing to do anything the parent wanted. He wanted to kill, and he wanted to eat, not play around. He wasn't going to agree to not mangle the thing. If he got his fangs into it, he was going to rip it apart.
