Blackfeather Woods The Watcher in the Woods

The waif waited, her slim body pressed against the quickly cooling bear cub's body. Her presence was noted quickly, and as if from no where, a wolf parted from the shadows of the forest. He was heavyset, with thick shoulders and limbs and large paws that could easily crush her if he wished. Immediately, Quiet rolled onto her side, rubbing her face into the ground submissively. Her normal, unblinking eyes flickered away for a moment under his piercing gaze toned in a hue similar to her brother's.

She pushed the carcass towards the large male, her body still fixed in the submissive posturing. She then lifted a paw and gestured towards her neck, then opening her mouth and straining slightly. No noise other than a barely perceptibly squeak exited her maw. Hopefully, the wolf would understand.
