Blackfeather Woods The Watcher in the Woods

This female before her was quite strange for Burke. He had met a few wolves without the ability to speak but he didn't get that she was part of them until she tried to vocalize. Nothing seemed to come out of her throat. Burke looked at her and the dead bear cub. Sure she had a knack for being quiet to kill a bear cub after taking it away from its mother but they were wolves they vocalized a lot. While hunting he needed to know where everyone was and that was usually communicated with a howl. That would be a serious disadvantage. On top of that the female didn't really look like she could stand her own, she was small and skinny. 

Then again as a spy she could be useful. If she masked her scent well no on could ever pull information out of her, yet then again she couldn't really communicate what she would have found on her spy missions. Burke kept his gaze skeptical, the female did show the right submissiveness to fall into his good graces but he wasn't sure one without a voice would be of good use in their pack. His docked tail was up as he looked over her with his judging gaze. "So you want to join my pack?,' he asked, pointing his muzzle at the dead trespasser not close by. With the question he wanted to see if she could at least understand speech.
