Not a terrible post at all! :)

Ishi's heart was humming with the thrill of it all, which wasn't really a positive thrill but wasn't exactly negative either. He was hardly a daredevil, but he was young and naive and loved adventure. And hell this was an adventure! Still, he didn't want the stranger to get hurt, and a tiny part of him wasn't too keen on destroying the beautiful bird either. So he was in two minds.

Some time soon he'd think of this experience as hugely fun, but for now, at least, he was content to see it as serious.

For that reason he didn't flee or prance towards the swan — the kid was not a warrior, he had no idea how to fight. "ATTACK". Wait, what? He was supposed to attack the swan? Bring it down? Er... He could try...

So the small, dainty wolf advanced on the creature with its wings like sails, and immediately got hit in the ribs by a powerful wing. Gasping, Ishi was thrown backwards and he doubled up, almost paralysed. But his weak, brave move had had one benefit — it had distracted the swan so that it turned its back on the much fiercer wolf...
