If Mazi had learned one thing from the life of a loner.  It was: trust no one.  As Peregrine launched himself at her.  She sprang out of the way as fast as a hare with a growl making a leap for her life as the female had no idea that the male did not intend right now to spill blood.

Mazi landed a few feet away from Peregrine with a thud, lading on her paws.  Fear raced through her mind, but she hid it, knowing fear would only make her position worse.  She panted for a moment trying to catch her breath, but Mazi knew attacks could be launched again.  She sunk into her defensive position once more.
