The magically-appearing wolves slowed – he could tell. With his own breath pounding hard in his ears, Mason crossed the threshold of his own borders, after scooting sharply across the no-man’s land. Straggling trees still present within their own borders, Mason dived around them, and wondered why he wasn’t scared. All he felt was anger. Anger at their stupid pack. Anger at adult wolves that chased skinny teenagers. Anger at everyone outside of his pack. One last look behind him showed no signs of his aggressors following.
Mason made a beeline for his Dad, knowing he would likely be somewhere close to Zaria deeper within the territory. They had to talk.
