The boy made it away magically unscathed from two experienced wolves, but Scimitar had called his packmate to slow. The boy flew past their marked borders – the ones Scimitar had, in good heart, moved back to satisfy the pack wolves that had now just pressed ill will upon them. The male rumbled words beside him, and Scimitar allowed a snort of amusement to press past his lips. “I’m sure there will be another chance – foolish young things like that don’t learn their lesson until they lose a tail,” he murmured darkly, and with a nod, notioned for his pack mate to follow him back to the heart of their terrain.
“This changes everything, though,” he decided quietly to his companion, and made to find Eshe and inform her of what had happened. He doubted she would be surprised to hear of what had just occurred – clearly, Silvertip Mountian wolves held no honor.
