The Beta tested her -- the flick of his tongue showing the hint of his uncertainty, but no sooner did Vuk lean against him did he grip her, forcing her against him with a fierceness that the Alpha Female did not take kindly to, given the girl's gentle nature and innocence. Capri's snarl was fierce in that moment -- gone was the desire to protect the girl and explain to her of what was happening to her -- gone was her own apprehension and upset of the situation and what predicament it placed her and her rank in -- all she could see in that moment was the pale fur of Vuk as the Beta overpowered her, pushing her against him.
 
Despite knowing that it would not have been against Vuk's will, given her state, the ebony woman still darted forward, her snarl erupting further as she made to close the distance between herself and the tawny male. But Taggarik's larger form slammed toward the Beta, causing her own to flinch back, her jaws snapping upon nothing but air.
 
She did not know if the Alpha fought the Beta for Vuk alone, or for only what he had meant to do -- her heart ached once more at the realization of what was to come to play, but rather than slink away scorned, the regal prowled to Vuk's side, her eyes softening as her muzzle made to sweep gingerly over the girl's forehead, if allowed -- had she not spent her time throwing her weight around with Taggarik and had noted the signs, none of this would have come to play -- perhaps she did not deserve her rank after all.
