Phoenix Maplewood tongue-clicking

It was just before dusk — Shreya tended to rise from sleep earlier than the other nocturnal sorts in Phoenix Maplewood. Life was too short to spend it sleeping. So she went down to the little tributary outside her den and had a drink before sending up a soft, quiet howl. It was a request for food: her bones were particularly stiff this morning, so she could be almost certain that her hunts would not be successful. But there was a little promise in that howl too, which reached only those in the vicinity: "I need a bite to eat so I can give you a bit to learn."
