Burke heard the howl loud and clearly. The large male knew that she would come eventually. He had chosen for Nemesis to say out of this conversation, not because she was not a good judge of character but because she possibly had a grudge towards the female in Burke's eyes. Plus she could keep track of the pack while he was busy talking with the female. If she was annoying and deserved to be killed then he would call for his pack and Nemesis mostly. Burke was most of his life a very calm wolf. He was not quick to anger, with having several exceptions to that. His pale eyes watched the female from the shadows, she was quite a few paces away so that was already pleasing Burke. She didn't seem arrogant and crazy as Nemesis described her.

Burke stepped from the shadows into the light, closer towards their border where the trees were thinning. The male with his docked tail stepped casually over the border, his head held high and a certain air around him. He had his dark forest close to him. His pale eyes looked straight at her. He ruled her and she would have to except that if she ever wanted to have a pack close to them. He was not asking submission from her, though he would be amused by that if such thing would happen, but he was not going to lower his status either. He had a pack to back up his claim she came here alone. It was quite daring from the female. He had not even taken her mate with her, Burke was not aware that her mate died. Something they had in common.

"Malice," he greeted, his body calm which was the same for his tone of voice. He had heard very contradicting things about this female. There was Nemesis story where this female was crazed and threatening to kill her and then there was Cicero's story where he delivered her message that she wanted them as an ally. Was she mentally ill? Maybe he would find out and expand his therapist skills. "I heard two very contradicting stories about you," he pointed out to her, letting her do all the talking. She was a female after all, they loved talking.
