Whit fell back a bit, sensing the other male's tension as he approached. He offered a friendly enough hello, but it didn't go unnoticed how he shifted protectively over his catch. Apparently this one was not the sharing type. At least, not without a little coaxing.

"Are you from around here?" Whit asked, slipping down onto his haunches and shifting his ears back. He'd been told he looked younger with his ears back like that and his head lowered. And he was definitely going for young. Young and pathetic.
