Fairspell Meadow i don't know where i'm going.

Whittier's ears perked slightly as he heard the stranger's pitying tone. He forced them back down quickly though for it didn't go unnoticed by him that the other guy had food and he did not. He gave a half-heartedly brave shrug and "forced" a sad smile.

"Yeah, I'm on my own," Whit replied with a sigh, "But it's okay, I've gotten by so far. Hopefully I've got a bit more luck still before it runs out." He laughed a little, making it sound as hollow as possible. Because that's what he was - hollow. Not actually the sad kind of hollow he was trying to portray, but the empty stomach kind of hollow.

Whittier was feeling pretty confident at that point that he was nearing his goal. He had pulled off pathetic. He definitely won himself the sympathy vote. And if he wasn't mistaken, he'd just pulled off the brave little trooper play. All that was left was for the dude to cough up his dinner and then they could both be on their way. Wasn't that what they all wanted really?

But no. Whit couldn't help himself. His ears perked when the stranger offered to teach him how to fish. Instead of just giving him a fish, he wanted to teach him how to do it himself. What was the point of that! Why learn to fish when others could do it for you. This guy was dumb.

But... maybe Whit could still turn this around...

"Really? You'd do that for me?" he asked, eyes widening as though he could hardly believe his luck. Truth be told, he had a plan already that would still save him from having to do any work. He was crafty like that. Physically lazy, absolutely. Mentally? Not.. always... (Usually though yeah)
