Returning from his jaunt in a northwest roundtrip from the grotto, Warbone grumpily picked his way back towards Sleeping Dragon. His mood— despite the fairly clear day— had less to do with the trip in itself, and more to do with his his muddy legs and underbelly. The glacierland was swampy with snowmelt in some places, and he had had the unfortunate pleasure of trudging through such spots twice and in the soft underfoot, he had sank once up to his chest on his return journey. He was irritated, to say the least, egged on by the fact that he was traveling high instead of his preferred haunt of the lowlands. Usually he plodded around, but he was interested in finding a quicker route through the small range, should it prove necessary to use once or twice.

And by going this way, he was still avoiding the breach of an agreement settled between his pack and the wolves of Phoenix Maplewood, that his path would remain above the river.
