Silverlight Terrace i don't know how you do what you do

The corners of his lips twitched into a shy smile at her compliment. It was nice to hear kind words spoken by a stranger, though when he glanced at her he found that she was simply staring into the darkness, unblinking. A moment later, she turned her head to look at him, and he found himself gazing into those eerie eyes once more. Her next question caught him off guard, and he shifted slightly, peering out into the moon-soaked meadow.

"Not exactly. It's complicated," he replied, a firmness to his words that indicated that he didn't want to address the subject further. It wasn't his story to tell; and besides, he had come to Silverlight Terrace to avoid thoughts of Wildfire and Goober for a few hours. When the sun rose, it would be time to return to reality.

He suddenly took to his feet with a suggestion. "Since we both came here to walk, let's go," he said, even as his paws moved him forward. A midnight stroll would do them both some good, perhaps.
