Perhaps Jhala had point, no one was truly ready to be a parent. However, Reek felt that he and Tavi were at the far ended extreme of the readiness spectrum. They had never discussed the possibility of parenthood -- never once had they entertained the thought of what their actions would bring, instead they had simply enjoyed each other hedonistically. Of course, with the pack rallied behind him, Reek knew he could pull though. As the saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child... and Reek had exactly that. It brought him comfort to know that he at least had Jhala to help, put there was a part of Reek that still worried he couldn't provide as full a life for his unplanned litter that they deserved.
