"Hey--" she began, but before the sound fully left her, the male was lunging toward her. On instinct, Magpie dropped to a defensive stance, her fur bristling and lips pulling back. She was a lover, not a fighter, but she would not simply succumb to a threat. These instincts had taken over, but in a second the woman realized there was nothing to worry about; he had shifted to a stance that communicated playfulness, not aggression, and she relaxed considerably.
Magpie wasn't particularly keen on sparring, but after a moment of consideration, she dropped her posture to mirror him; green eyes watching for his next move.
