Larksong Grotto Elephant in a Henhouse

Jhala was out. Not far out and certainly not abandoning her post of guard duty, but still out. She was hungry, and she assumed Eslani was too. The girl was pretty strange-- this 'heat' or whatever made her talk weird, like she wanted something, and Jhala couldn't provide her with that as far as she was concerned. But she was trying. So that morning she had left, off to hunt. She had caught two geese, one had bitten her on the shoulder but she easily ignored the stinging it brought. Why could geese bite, anyway? Why did they have teeth? She didn't understand.

On her way back, she discovered the scent of Ditty-- nearby too. Her heart raced, and her eyes widened. Oh no oh no. Had she failed? She hadn't failed-- she just couldn't of. Holding the birds tightly by their necks, she sprinted back to her den, tail trailing behind her. She saw the orange coat of Ditty, dropped the birds, and lept, her large form slamming into him.
