he does not go kindly back in to the dark forest, but rather chooses to hang around. as he moves to intercept her, the boy asks a question - a redundant one, she assumes - and recieves no answer. the fact that he is blocking her way gives rise to her temper but hosannah holds her tongue, leveling an expression of mild outrage his way. it is clear after a momentary stalemate that she cannot go further, and he will not move to accommodate her.

i am fine, i do not need your help, good sir. though she speaks freely there is an undercurrent of emotion to her words; she throws about the propriety he does not rightly deserve, being such a boorish thing, an obstacle to overcome. a true man would have let her pass and be on her merry way. still, hosannah is not afraid of him or this confrontation. move aside. she has all the bearing of a priest as she speaks, mimicking the firm manner in which the men in her life always spoke, and the rigid stance of their bodies.
