The fog was thick now, thicker than anything Bazi had ever experienced. She couldn't see her own paws, let alone the details of her surroundings, and every breath felt like pulling in a lung-full of thick, cold syrup. Wherever she was now - within Swiftcurrent Creek borders, judging by the distant but identifiable purl of water, and thank heavens for that - was where she would have to remain until the wind picked up, or the sun had gathered enough strength to break through the wall of mist that surrounded her on all sides.

Footfalls. Those were footfalls, and they sounded close - the scent that would prove that either way was lost in the mist. "Hello?" the Creek Gamma woofed into the thick air, bristling with claustrophobic anxiety.
