When her eyes focused on him, they were no longer looking through him, but picking him apart piece by piece. Sitiyok had never felt so vunerable, nor so alive. His heart beat strong in his chest as he retained his pose, waiting eagerly for her to reciprocate (because what other option was there). Her movement was so quick that, if he'd taken the moment to blink, she'd have passed him in a flash and left him wanting once more. But she didn't. She closed the distance and drew up beside him, opposite, so that his nose was nearly in reach of─

Then she was gone, skipping away in a flash and inviting him to play. It wasn't a game, he knew, and his ears swiveled to follow her as she bounded down the shoreline. He waited for a half-beat more before surging after her with his tail waving high behind his rump like a great Lordly banner, and his mouth open and turned up in an impish smile. He danced over a wave and weaved in lazy curves behind her until he drew near enough to nip at her flank with a sharp huff of air. He would catch her, so he could finally solve the puzzle of the bear-like she-wolf.
