She sighed in relief as Kove appeared, in the nick of time. But her relief was short lived and made no impact on her state. "Where is Xan?" She asked him, before anything. All needed to be accounted before she took refuge, or she could not be still. "They are locusts. They will strip our forest's clean of every plant and every tree. Drive the herds away to where they can find food.. worse than any tornado," She shuddered, and could not help thinking of what would remain when they emerged from hiding. Hell on earth. She had witnesses the damage of the tornado that had swept through the Teekon just weeks before she arrived but that was different. Things still remained. While she doubted any lives would be lost, after their caches ran dry.. they would have to scavenge what was left. Birds, maybe. Perhaps fish, if they existed yet.

She started to follow Kendra down to the tunnels, but waited. "Xan!" Burke had called for the pack and she would wait at the mouth of the entrance until they arrived and were accounted for. It was her job, the one she had been failing miserably at. She had to try and do it right this time. Kendra was oddly monotone, hold no expression at all, and it pained her. It would not happen again. She had vowed it.
the only way to keep your people loyal is
to make certain they fear you more than they do the enemy
