deirdre -- she ran upon the beach and was filled with happiness, and her gaiety was infectious. the golden man spoke, and his gratitude was clear -- it shown in the fine-boned features of his face and the curve of his lips, though his sudden unsurety gave taltos paused. why would renoir suddenly fear that his offer might be revoked?
the earthen servant nodded firmly, meeting the eyes of the gilded child -- "bien sûr," he murmured. he wished to know more of the man, and the openness of renoir was a boon to him, refreshing after the guarded nature of so many lone wolves. and so he stood aside, invitng the golden one to come to him, and to deirdre -- to come home to donnelaith.
