It didn't take Harlyn long to realize that these insects were doing them no harm. They were not stinging or biting, but it still was distressing to be so suddenly and completely enveloped in the swarm. She shifted her muzzle to reach for her children, touching them each with a soothing growl. She prayed that it would be over soon, that this would pass and her children could grow calm again. But something told her this was not a fleeting thing, and even if the gods had not been so deaf to get prayers as of late, this trauma would continue.
