Shrike was relieved that he didn't end up getting more mouth from Ashmedia- who instead seemed to relinquish his stance and trust Shrike more. It was with great pleasure that Shrike was able to resume running Dingo away from the pack, as he had originally intended and to Fox's statement he gave a sharp nod. His suspicions had been correct- Caldera wolves did not tolerate intruders at all, not even if they claimed to be family, and particularly if they stole from the pack. Fox took off, and Shrike turned, purposefully, and kicked a bit of dirt in the direction in which Dingo ran, as though to bid him a final adieu. He gave a slight I told you so look to Ashmedai and, without saying more, moved back to the borders where he would quite happily resume his patrol.
