The Tangle BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY

While their leaders brawled the packs themselves were set on claiming the kill. "Ours," Stark growled around his mouthful, feeling the buck's meat falling apart the more that Grace shook her head. The attacks against her were defended by their packmates and when the other wolf released the kill Stark began to backpedal quickly, tugging the buck back towards their lands. He quickly returned his gaze and Stark's blue eyes bore down onto the man, the one who had the audacity to try and actively steal their kill while the rest continued to squabble. 

"We killed it, we earned it." Stark growled out, even as Teagan ran his mouth. It might be a good distraction, especially if any of the other wolves were hot headed enough to take his bait. With Teagan and Trick defending Grace he was aware it left himself open but there were so many that seemed squaring off he couldn't try and decide what each would do. Too many variables, too many potential outcomes - there were so many things that each could do .

If they had approached things differently, if the other leader would have just approached them maybe they could have split the kill. Maybe they could have worked together. Maybe things would have played out differently. But unfortunately the female's hysterics meant that she had made a poor choice, and they'd all have to deal with it.
