From what he knew, Phantom Hollow was perhaps the only pack that could pose a threat to the Dark Brotherhood in the area, and he was expecting a reaction according to that from the alpha. That's when Damien finally connected the dots. What other reason could Burke have to bring an otherwise unknown female to the territory and house her in the alpha's den, than her being pregnant? The growl deepened as he realized the treason that it was for her to even step on those grounds, and he took one step forward as his instincts pushed him to kill the female, but he didn't. He stopped right in front of her before his teeth could even touch her.
