Odette sat at the very edge of the den. She was hungry... oh so hungry. Still she knew that she could only be patient and wait for someone to bring her something... if only she could catch something. That could help solve everything. An idea suddenly sprung into her mind. What if she could catch something? She just had to find something decent enough...
Suddenly out of the corner of her eye, she catch sight of a black, shelled, crawling, tiny thing. She licked her chops. Practice target number one. Slowy she began to stalk her way towards the beatle, a little awkwardly. She was closing in on the target. Then Odie took an epic leap of face, her little puppy jaws stretching wide as she leapt for the beatle. She needed it! She wanted it! So when Odette tumbled back to the ground she missed... and did a faceplant.
A startled yelp escaped Odie. Her face felt very numb, in fact she couldn't really feel her face that much. Yet Odette was fine, mostly, except for a small trickled of blood that slippedfrom the left side of her jaw. It was just a scratch, but it was still the first time that Odie had really hurt herself. Odette didn't like it. Slowly the numbness went away and pain replaced it. It was a lot of pain, but there was still a little sting. A whine escaped the puppy. This wasn't fun at all.
