For the most part, life sucked. She was starving, and any hunt she attempted was pretty much a massive failure. Anything she did hunt she'd offer Saena but... well, she hadn't had a successful hunt in about a month. That's what happened to talentless wolves in time of famine. Chosovi feared the worst. Feared words she had heard would ring true. The strong survived. She wasn't strong, nor especially smart, nor a brilliant hunter... Her life wasn't that brilliant or amazing, because she was a wallflower.

And she was used to it. At the Creek, she wasn't hated or love. She just existed. She knew it was her own fault, and hadn't minded much... until now, when it dawned on her that when she died, it'd not mean really anything to anyone here. No one would care. "Oh, Chosovi died! And hey, look at that leaf!"

It caused her to need to escape the Creek for a bit. Maybe she should be a bit more proactive, but, well, she had a wounded ego to nurse for an hour or so first.

Hunger made her a bit of a spacehead, so it was no wonder she missed the wolf at first. But the scent of blood--was she imagining things?--caused her to look toward Cypher, then toward the tree, and up at the squirrel. In true Chosovi fashion, she raced toward the tree, reared on her wobbly and weak hinds [hunger], and bark about a hundred times at the pest. 'Come back down here!!!!!!!' seemed to be the message, but it glared right at the wolf. Still, Chosovi didn't stop. It was like... it felt like her last hope.
