Swiftcurrent Creek nightmares on wax

Aryn floated down, running her beak through Ferdie's mane. She felt a depressing wave come across the clearing, so thick it was nearly palpable. She awkwardly rose her wings an gave a small hoot of goodbye to Ferdie.

She was not five feet in the air when a howl rose into the cool, night air, and then cut off. The sudden stop caused Aryn to cringe and go yeep, thankfully she was only a little bit in he air.

The owl feared the worst, and couldn't bear to look at the other wolves. With a glance at Ferdie that stated I'll be back soon, she rose into the night, a misty figure in the moonlight, looking for something to settle Ferdie's stomach in hopes to lighten the wolf's mood.
