Their return had come and gone smoothly, leaving him to rest his legs from the trip to the coast with the Heda and Gluskap. In all, he was satisfied with it and left to consider a great many things in the meantime as he eased back into the typical routine. This, of course, he did on the solitude of the patrol -- or more recently, the hunt. Hunger left them all lean and suffering. He was done with its company.
Even after flushing out a small rat from the rocks this morning, he still craved the taste of large game -- deer, moose, goat, boar anything sizable. His muzzle wrinkled and he licked his lips. It was cruelty at its finest.
But distraction came in the scent of a Dragon female. Vaguely familiar to his nose alone, he followed it without a second thought, and the sound of a snarl made the tail end of his search easy enough. A few long strides more and he spotted her.
Dio arrived in silence but made it obvious as he looked her over. What troubled her enough for such a snarl? She appeared alone, he smelled no others, so the question seemed clear to him.
