The jellyfish bobbed through the water with a strange sense of grace. It was evident that they belonged there; this was something that Skellige had always envied of the natural sea dwelling creatures. Though he had been born on the land, the dark wraith had always felt more at home under the depths of the ocean waters. On land, he was a brutal creature, comprised of thick limbs and a towering frame. In the water, though, the beast took on a different form; he was graceful and still terrifying in a sense that he knew the sea better than most of his kind. As the man turned to look at his companion’s awestruck face, he wished that he could have shown her the islands of his birth. The blue waters were beautiful to gaze at, even if you were not fond of the salt.

Glancing back and forth between the pale girl and the glowing red jellyfish, Skellige began to feel his lungs thirst for air once more. Realizing that they had spent some substantial time in the ocean, he motioned for the girl to follow him once more to the surface. Using his limbs, the wraith swam to the break of the water and breathed deeply in the air outside. His eyes sought the woman who had followed him beneath the swell.
what would an ocean be without a monster lurking in the dark?
it would be like sleep without dreams
