Heron Lake Plateau eye of wrath

As his queen slowly stretched along the ground, Khalba sat back and settled on his rear to rest. She would surely desire more from him and he needed to be ready to comply so he could ensure conception. It was in his desire that his duty to her and his God would not go unfulfilled. His breathing slowed back to a stable pace and there was silence.

From nowhere, she levied a query. Why had he followed? He wondered. Perhaps it was because a life of service was all he knew. Or maybe it was his blind devotion. Most of all, he figured it was his favorable treatment. Who was he to deny these pleasures of the flesh? "I wanted to," he said, keeping his answer simple and succinct. 

Then, she moved forward with want in her eye. He took a step forward as well and allowed his teeth to rake through the ruff of his Queen's fur.
