She did! His mother wanted to play! With a grin that stretched across his maw, he squealed in delight. "Play! Play!" he burbled, watching his mother's tail lash. She leapt to one side, and Seff catapulted into motion. Legs churning, he sped toward his mother, eyes fastened on her feathery tail. His blue eyes gleamed with joy, the same blue they had been since the day he was born. 

Today was simply about play, not about the monumental changes that had come over the pack, changes Seff could not yet understand. He noticed the absence, however, of many of his play friends, but was sure they'd return, eventually. They wouldn't leave him, would they?
