His expression changed, confusion mixed with a little hurt. He felt he was doing alright in laying out his feelings to her just now, and she just completely ignored it, worried that he wasn't fessing up to what he wanted in regards to a title between them. It hurt him that she seemed more focused on the title, even after he said it wasn't something he needed. But, if he dug deep down, maybe it was their status that had something to do with it. What we are to each other does come into my mind all the time, he confessed to her softly. But, my heart already calls you mine. A soft smile formed his maw.
It wasn't something he had meant to come up, but it wasn't something he was going to hold back now, especially if she was so adorably hell-bent on calling him out on it. He slid back into the water, his tail wagging with confidence as he waded through the shallows to put his nose to hers. Will you be my mate, Niita? he asked softly, his gaze searching hers.
