All the attention seemed to be on the new pup, and Aviana was deeply grateful for that, for it meant less eyes on her. Her own gaze shot between the members who were arriving, darting from this wolf to that, never settling on just one. That was until a rather confident male came next in line and introduced himself as Valtyr. He seemed confident and savvy, and Aviana instantly disliked him from the moment he opened his jaws. Her Uncle had been like that, smooth and sure of himself. Her ears flattened on her head as it lowered, her once-shifty eyes centered on him. She felt trapped, knowing she wasn't supposed to leave, but not wanting this male near her. In a world of fight or flight, Aviana was moments away from choosing fight. Her eyes exposed her fear, as the muscles in her body prepared it to lunge at him.
Sebastian broke her thoughts, and her head jerked in his direction. He wanted her to follow him. Aviana's gaze shifted back to her perceived threat before she did as her brother said, slinking off to follow him. She kept Valtyr in view, however, until he was far enough away that she felt the threat lessen. Her attention moved to another male who had introduced himself with a stutter earlier. This one seemed far less confident, and that actually made Aviana feel a margin of ease with him. If others acted as she, she felt they were less likely to attack her. Confidence scared her, but awkwardness didn't.
Sebastian introduced this male as his brother, and for a moment Aviana looked perplexed and confused. As Sebastian and she were siblings, Aviana knew Aduin was not related to them. But, Sebastian had obviously had this whole other life in the year and a half they had been separated. It was obvious he had formed new bonds with new wolves and had made a new family. She felt a tinge of jealously. Sebastian was happy here, surrounded by those he trusted, while Aviana had no choice but to run all this time. Her life had been vastly different from his, and for a moment she wondered if she'd really be able to fit in here. She didn't have happy days, and it was apparent these wolves did. She lived her life in fear that past events would repeat themselves, and acted accordingly to prevent it. Her entire life now revolved around a single transgression that she could not put behind her.
The realization depressed her, and she frowned, her gaze falling to the ground. She said nothing, lost in her own mind that was far from this clearing, this gathering and these wolves.
